Pvr-9300t update

Auto or manual updates do not work. Is the only way to force an update to connect to my laptop with a special RS lead? I have many problems with my PVR, mainly due I think to a poor Freeview signal: recordings with start and ends cut off,skipping, jumping, not recording at all and EPG being unpopulated.

Its all very frustrating but I wonder how I can tell what is due to my poor signal and what is down to the Humax that could be fixed? Thanks for your reply, that's good, at least the swr is ok. Other channels like Dave and Sky News come and go all the time. One week I have them, the next week I don't. Film 4 is not worth recording now because of all the skipping caused by poor signal. I wonder if I should just invest in Freesat but I've had problems with that in the past too! Your signal strength is fine. I do use manual tuning, I got the codes from Digital UK. Maybe I should re tune every week but surely that shouldn't be necessary. Sky News, for instance, sometimes falls off my Freeview tuners, but it's usually weather-related.

I agree. A cursory google brings up numerous complaints about Top Gear being cut short. Maybe Sunday primetime is when the BBC gets back on schedule if there has been a significant drift due to overruns.

Also Steve OP says it doesn't happen on a Monday's top gear repeat. I remember the discussions around family guy and american dad a while ago, but it never affected my boxes. I assume we've all seen the timing signal sent before an advert break.

It's possible the beeb are sending out a similar signal just before a show ends, such as Martin suggests, the t decoding chip can't handle, but why that doesn't happen on a Monday's repeat is anybodys guess. HD is a good enough excuse, picture quality and sound, if you have the right equipment, is better. Use the T for a 2nd TV or backup. But not for software updates. Hi, I have a possible software or related glitch, and would appreciate help. My PVR has recently started to cut time from the beginning and end of programmes set to record from the Guide, losing some minutes. Very frustrating to get Tour de France 5 minutes in! I cannot see any way of changing timing of recorded programmes apart from manual changes each time, and the clock can't be set either.

I seem to be up to date with the latest software version according to the automatic OTA message. Anyone share this problem?

Last edited: Jul 24, Thanks for suggestion, but I did minimise the advert time to no avail. I have discovered since today actually that my sw version is 1. I have also seen the hummy chat on automatic v manual OTA updates, and I also have failed to update the sw using that method. I do have a PC with a a serial port yes it is that old but cannot find the download tool that Humax say is necessary along with the sw. Sounds silly, but where is it?

Now I feel really stupid! Thanks for your patience. It sounds as if you have found and downloaded the correct software. On the same page, click on the next sub heading - Download Instruction. So this time it worked, just to make me look foolish.
