Disable windows media network sharing service windows 7


















In Windows 8, once you disabled and removed them from control panel, they no longer appeared. In Windows 10, they remain. I can't remove them from there.

Every user of my computer has a Media Device showing up, whether they have media sharing enabled or not.

For example:. My account is the only one that has streaming enabled. It's the only one that I want to show. Right clicking on these unwanted media devices only gives the options to open media player, create shortcut or properties. I'm out of ideas, outside of going through the registry. Obviously, it's not that serious.

Just curious as to why it worked on Windows 8. Open This PC , right click on any left one at a time , and click on Remove device again. Let me confirm that this will only remove them from your This PC window. However, as I mentioned in my initial post, I've already performed those steps. These devices show up even if I have media streaming disabled though the whole system. My problem is that when I open my xbox for example, every user on my PC is showing up as a media server. I don't want that. These aren't actual media devices, they're users on my system that Windows has created automatically, even though media streaming is not enabled.

Could it be something related to the uuid? For each user it is different. Maybe disabling that will help? Again, I don't understand why this even an issue, my Windows 8. This seems like a bug.
